Hi everyone,
I hope you are all doing well this week, I have something different for you this week. I thought that it would be an idea to write about the creams I use to help with my eczema. These are just what I have found work for me. If they don't work for you that's ok or you have found ones you feel really do work well for you then that is great. But if you are looking for something to help with yours then try these ones and see if they help you out.
When my skin is bad like it was last week as I wrote the last blog post. I always turn to 3 creams to help bring my skin under control. I get all of them from Boots. Most of the stuff I get is from Boots as that's the only cosmetics shop in my town unless I head over to another town or city near me, I can get more products there unless I go online of course.
The first one I use is called Eurax. This one is to help stop the itching for 6 to 10 hours. You can apply this up to 3 times a day on the area that's itching. I use this all the time when my skin is really itchy it usually works straight away depending on where it is and how bad I've already scratched. It does get much worse when my hayfever acts up or when I'm really stressed out over something, that can cause a lot of eczema which means a lot of scratching so this is the first thing I reach for after a antihistamine.
So with using that one to sooth the itch for a while I will then go in with Dermalex for Eczema this cream has 3 other creams/gels for acne, rosacea and psoriasis. Of course I use the one for eczema this is to help moisturise and protect the skin and to keep the natural barrier of the skin strong and healthy. This I will use as a moisturiser over the parts that have started healing but just need that extra helping hand to get it back to healed again. Where my skin will go really red and painful looking, I put this on.
Then when my skin is fine I'll start putting this on after my moisturiser just so I can keep all the goodness on my skin, I'll keep using this even when my skin has healed and it still looks dry I'll keep going until I think my skin doesn't need it anymore. If I didn't keep it up then I know I'll go back 5 steps and have to start all over again! So I usually keep that up for 2 weeks. Even if my skin goes pinky/red I'll put it on, so I have something to protect my skin.
The moisturiser I used daily (unless trying products out for the blog) and I have mentioned it so many times is my trusted and loved Botanics night cream, I use this every single day morning and night time, just for the simple fact it's so nourishing for me to use both morning and night it really keeps my skin smooth and soft. I will say when my skin is really bad, I can use this still but it does burn which anything would do that, but if i sit in front of a fan it does calm down really quick.
So these are the creams I use for when my skin is really bad and really aggravated.
I have tried the other creams out that are for eczema and nothing seems to really work for me at the moment, I will try and revisit some of the creams that I used to try and see if the work for me or if they are definitely a no go for good.
Hope you enjoyed reading this different post. I am trying to go in a new direction with the blog as I can't seem to change my skincare to often and have to let everything settle again before trying something different.
Let me know if you have tried anything I have mentioned and what products you've tried that I should give a go!
See you all in the next one! X
